Protected from most weather, the Abel Tasman coast is renowned for clear azure waters, golden-sand beaches fringed by native forest, hidden coves and spectacularly carved granite headlands. The coast is home to many sea birds, including the Little Blue Penguin. New Zealand Fur Seals breed on the islands close to shore. Dolphins visit the idyllic coast, perhaps on the same day as you.

Although the coast in renowned for settled weather, it is impossible to guarantee conditions. It might be necessary to paddle against the wind to the nearest beach. We use double kayaks for their stability and the advantage of having two people sharing the paddling effort.

Everyone can enjoy the secrets of the protected bays and beaches along this wondrous coastline. Our friendly, knowledgeable guides provide all the training you require for safe, fun paddling.
