NZ Ski New Zealand skiing and snowboarding holidays - The Remarkables

The Remarkables - New Zealand skiing vacations

Snowboarding in New ZealandAcross the valley lies The Remarkable's, Queenstowns true alpine ski area. Here the emphasis is very definitely on joining in and having fun, especially if you're a beginner, intermediate or looking for serious adrenaline.

The Remarkables enjoys three sunny sheltered bowls framed by towering peaks, and is known for its friendly atmosphere and relaxed feel. It's a great place to learn to ski with easy access to learner runs by an easy to use chairlift. And if you're ready to sample life on the edge, you'll find challenging terrain like you've never seen before and some of the longest off-piste runs around.
Kids are well catered for and kids 10 years and under get a free day lift pass.

The Remarkables is the ideal place to make the most of winter's offerings. For small kids and big kids alike, check out the new tubing park for great fun in the snow!

New for 2009

One of the most popular developments this year will probably be the strategic placement of 3kms of road barriers in two sections on the Remarkables road, instilling more confidence for those travelling up there.

The Base Building will receive a 'spruce-up' with some departments changing location to make the building more user friendly.

A new webcam will be installed giving better quality, and up-to-date shots from the mountain.

In addition to the above, Remarkables day/mutiday lift tickets will now include free transport to & from the Queenstown Snow Centre, The Station Buiding, Duke street.

New Groomers
7 new groomers are being purchased across all three mountains replacing existing machines; these will be
‘greener’, more efficient and will result in better surface conditions and more corduroy to carve up.

Trail Signage
The installation of new and upgraded trail signage across the mountain will take place at all three ski areas.
This is to enhance the on-snow experience and safety of our guests.

Family Focus
New this year also is the introduction of a children-specific programme, what was the Youth
Combo Pack has now been replaced by the Kea Club (6 - 12 yrs)/Shredders (13 - 17 yrs), and now includes full day supervision with lunch as well as lift, lessons and rental.
