Accommodation
"Wherever I lay my hat, that's my home..."
You'll be laying your hat in carefully chosen locations from remote wilderness camps to fully-equipped camping grounds. Experience natural New Zealand without compromising your comfort.
If the weather turns grim, you can usually upgrade to a cabin, lodge or chalet (subject to availability). And if the weather doesn't turn grim, you could be singing the above lyrics and other priceless gems around a camp fire.
Merriment is offered at no charge. Camping cost = $11/night.
Food
Fuelling the adventurer
Healthy, delicious meals without the organisational headaches. Excellent value!
- Homemade meals - daily recipes chosen from easy-to-follow cookbook (provisions made for vegetarians)
- So who wants to play Mum? - shared group cooking duties, so you don't have to cook every night (what a relief!)
- Shopping - save time and money by leaving it to your driver/guide
- Hassle-free - no competing for cooking time, no extra expense, no shopping, no relying on junk food, know what we mean?
- Convenience - portable kitchen for good food any time, anywhere
- Munchies - tea, coffee, and plenty of fruit to keep your nose wet and your coat shiny
- Eating out - try the local cuisine if your meal is not included (check itinerary for B/L/D — breakfast/lunch/dinner)
Food cost = one off payment of $16/night
Tents
Our hire tents are 3 person dome tents that are easy to erect. Available for hire as a single or you can share with one other person to save money.
Cycles
This is a brilliant way to catch the sights, get a feel for this stunning land and enjoy a fun activity in good company. The pick up and drop off system enables you to cycle the distance that you choose. With a large selection of back road rides there are rides to suit all levels of fitness.
We use late model 24 speed aluminium framed mountain bikes. A mixture of Avanti Montari's, Gary Fisher Tassajara's and Specialised Hard Rock bikes. We provide you with helmets (compulsory in New Zealand) and detailed cycle maps.
Canoeing
On the South Island we carry Canadian Canoes. They seat up to three people and you can explore the many lakes for free. In the North Island we have boogie boards to enjoy the surf on the various beaches.
