The Get Down Under New Zealand Tour Company is a small group, guided tour operator for people wanting great personal service, boutique accommodation and active outdoor experiences.We have provided our guests with a special New Zealand adventure since 1996. If you wish to avoid the hassles of self-drive holidays, and if large coach tours are not for you then we are the perfect solution.

Explore New Zealand's breathtaking natural places, meet the original inhabitants (whales, penguins, kiwi, tuatara, kakapo...) and also the Maori, European and Polynesian people who have made these islands their home.

Our small group tours include New Zealand's best scenery and wildlife, our history and culture, all during a relaxed schedule that minimises driving time and maximises "doing" time. Wander along isolated, natural tracks framed by mountains and unspoiled by crowds. Breath the pure air and feel surrounded by nature ~ having fun with a small group of like-minded individuals.

Consider the key features of our tours:

Maximum 12 guests on each tour, typically aged 40-plus with average fitness. They love to get outdoors, enjoying nature in a variety of moderately active ways.

2 Kiwi guides and 2 touring vehicles with 8-12 guests. With 2 guides and 2 vehicles you receive a very high level of comfort, personal friendly service and a degree of flexibility impossible on large coach tours.

2-night stays in most locations so you can actually have a relaxing holiday rather than a rushed country inspection tour.

Huge variety of scenic, cultural and outdoor activities suitable for moderately active people with a sense of adventure. We love to hike, sail, kayak and cruise to experience New Zealand’s unique flora and fauna, face to face.

Small, boutique Hotels and B&B’s (4-5 star average) provide a little luxury, and are chosen for their friendly hosts, excellent facilities and special, individual character.

Relaxed pace, free time, and flexibility allow you to personalise your New Zealand tour in many different ways.

The best local restaurants are our preferred dining locations, where you can select directly from the a la carte menu. Also included with dinners are selected NZ wines and beers to complement your dining experience.
