The New Zealand Discovery Classic Independent Motorhome tour takes in many classic sites including the cosmopolitan city of Auckland, awe-inspiring Waitomo, thermal Rotorua and magnificent Lake Taupo before enjoying a spectacular ferry journey from Wellington to the South Island. First stop there is Blenheim, famous for its fabulous wine, then it's on to historic Christchurch and Dunedin before the natural beauty of Te Anau and a full day trip to Milford Sound. Follow this with the buzz of Queenstown and drive the breathtaking Haast Pass to the West Coast where you will visit Franz Josef Glacier and a Shanty town at Greymouth, before ending your trip back at Christchurch via Arthur's Pass.

Brief Summary:
We begin our New Zealand adventure in Auckland where we have included entry to one of New Zealand's top attractions, Kelly Tarlton's Antarctic Encounter & Underwater World. Next it's on to Waitomo for a guided tour through spectacular limestone caves before we partake in a Maori culture performance and dinner in Rotorua. We take a cruise on Lake Taupo and then head further south to Wellington, home to the national museum, Te Papa. From here we take one of the best ferry rides anywhere in the world across the Cook Strait to the South Island. After a winery tour in sunny Blenheim it's on to Christchurch and Dunedin where we visit New Zealand's only castle. A scenic route through the Catlins Forest Park leads us to Invercargill and then it's on to Te Anau. This is the base for our full day tour to Milford Sound for amazing scenery and beauty. Next is the fun filled resort of Queenstown where a ride on the Shotover River jet boat is included. After a guided tour on the Franz Josef Glacier and gold panning at Greymouth's Shanty Town we travel through Arthur's Pass back to Christchurch.

Auckland - City of Sails
You will see why Auckland, New Zealand's largest and most cosmopolitan city, is known as the City of Sails. A visit to Kelly Tarlton's Under Water World and Antarctic Centre is included in your tour fee. Other options include Sky Tower and Casino, Maritime Museum, Howick Historic Village and a harbour cruise to Devonport on the ferry.
Waitomo Caves
A guided tour through the Waitomo caves and chambers, including a boat ride through the glow worm grotto.
Rotorua Thermal Wonders
The highlight here will be the included Maori dinner and cultural entertainment. Ample time is allowed to visit the many thermal geysers and mud pools that make Rotorua famous and entry to Hell's Gate is included in your tour fee.
Lake Taupo
A cruise on Lake Taupo which is about the size of Singapore and is a water filled caldera of a huge volcano and a visit to the spectacular Huka Falls.
Wellington Harbour & Te Papa
New Zealand's capital city and home to Te Papa, the National Museum situated on the waterfront. Entry is free. Also on the waterfront are numerous cafes and taverns providing fine dinning and entertainment all within a short walking distance. In Wellington we recommend you use the public transport system and enjoy a stress free view of the beautiful harbour and local scenery.
Cook Strait
Cruise across the Cook Strait taking in the sights of the Marlborough Sounds in one of the most spectacular ferry rides anywhere in the world. The three hour journey is full of scenic beauty. The Marlborough region is famous for it's world class wines and we have included a winery tour with those all important tastings.

Your thrilling jet boat trip on the Shotover River is included in your tour fee but there are dozens of optional activities such as bungy jumping, horse riding, and gondola rides at one of the top tourist destinations of New Zealand.
Dunedin & Invercargill
Discover the historic South where the highlight will be the included visit to Larnarch Castle and Gardens with it's magnificent architecture and spectacular views.

Magnificient world famous Mitre Peak - Boat Cruise Milford Sound
Te Anau & Milford Sound
From Te Anau there is a full day trip through to Milford Sound and back, through the Fiordland National Park and down through the Homer Tunnel. The cruise on Milford Sound gives long-treasured views of Mitre Peak and numerous waterfalls. We have also included a trip to the Te Anau Glow Worm Caves.

The West Coast and Fox & Franz Josef Glaciers
You won't forget the journey through the Haast Pass in the Southern Alps. You get to view the Fox Glacier and also have a guided Fanz Josef Glacier tour as you enjoy the gentle pace of West Coast of South Island; then on to Greymouth and a visit to Shanty Town, a local tourist icon celebrating the gold rush days. The beautiful drive through Arthur's Pass brings you back to Christchurch.
