The Coastal Pacific Train connects Picton with Christchurch and passes through Kaikoura on the East Coast of New Zealand - this is a daily service and operates during the Summer months only.

The Northern Explorer connects Auckland with Wellington and runs through the middle of the North Island

The TranzAlpine Train connects Christchurch with Greymouth on the West Coast of New Zealand. Leaves Christchurch early morning and stops in Greymouth for an hour before returning to Christchurch on the same day.
